We built this living room heater around a 2500W halogen infrared emitter. The goal was simple: fast, focused heat. It runs on a 400V supply, which packs more power into a slim 300mm tube. That tight size slips into standard enclosures and puts serious warmth exactly where you want it—without tripping the circuit.
The Heart of It: Halogen, Quartz, and a Clean Connection
Inside, the heating element uses a halogen-cycle filament sealed in a quartz envelope. This chemistry keeps the filament steady at high temps, so the lamp resists blackening and holds steady output over time. The quartz tube handles the shock of instant-on, no drama. And the R7s bi-pin connector? It’s direct and low-resistance. Hooking it up is quick, it stays solid even with vibration, and the tube becomes a straightforward drop-in replacement.
Why It Works for Cozy Spot Heating
This setup was made for spot heating in living rooms—the kind of comfort that wraps around you without heating the whole house. The shortwave infrared kicks in almost immediately, with almost no warm-up wait. You get a lot of heat from a small footprint. Just keep some airflow around the fixture. At 2500W, the surrounding parts need space to stay cool, so the whole assembly stays reliable.
