
How we handle the “shiver factor” in wet zones
Nobody likes that freezing walk from the shower to the towel. It’s the worst part of the routine. To fix this, we use shortwave infrared (SWIR) tech. Most heaters try to warm up the air in the room. That takes forever, especially in a damp bathroom. Our lamps do things differently. They send energy straight to your skin and the surfaces around you. It’s instant. You flip a switch, and you feel the warmth immediately. No waiting around in a cold room. The secret to the speed We use high-wattage quartz halogen elements to make this happen. Basically, we pack a lot of power into a tiny space. Because the heat doesn’t have to travel through the air to reach you, there’s no lag. You don’t have to wait for a radiator to slowly get warm while you’re shivering. It just works. Dealing with the steam Bathrooms are tough on electronics. You’ve got steam, splashes, and high humidity. To keep things safe, we tuck the quartz tubes inside IP-rated enclosures. We chose quartz glass specifically because it handles “thermal shock.” That’s a fancy way of saying it won’t shatter if a stray drop of cold water hits the hot surface. We also put special seals around the electrical connections. Without those, moisture would sneak in and fry the circuitry. A few things to keep in mind This kind of heat is directional. Think of it like a flashlight, but with warmth. If you’re standing right under the lamp, it’s great. If you step a few feet to the side, you’ll feel the difference. Since the quartz tubes get incredibly hot, we add a protective grill. You’ll also want to mount the unit high enough so nobody accidentally touches the element. One last tip: give it its own dedicated circuit. These units pull a decent amount of power when they first kick on, and you don’t want to trip a breaker mid-shower.
